  • 6 tablespoons salted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 8 oz farfalle pasta
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 oz fresh basil (more to taste)
  • 1/2 cup pine nuts (lightly toasted)
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. In a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add lemon slices and minced garlic; cook until golden brown (about 5 minutes). Remove from heat and stir in an additional 2 tablespoons of butter.
  2. Boil water in a large pot; cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain.
  3. Combine hot pasta in the skillet with the lemon garlic butter mixture.
  4. Stir in remaining butter and Parmesan cheese over low-medium heat until melted.
  5. Mix half of the chopped basil into the pasta before serving.
  6. Garnish with remaining basil, toasted pine nuts, and cracked black pepper.
