Ingredients
- 1 box (13.25 oz) vanilla cake mix
- ⅓ cup neutral oil (vegetable, avocado, canola)
- 1 cup milk or water
- 4 large eggs
- ¼ cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 12 oz candy melts
- White nonpareils or sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325-350°F (162-175°C) based on your baking pan size.
- Combine all cake ingredients in a bowl and pour into a greased baking pan. Bake until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Crumble the cooled cake into fine pieces and mix with buttercream filling until fully incorporated.
- Roll into balls (about 1¼-inch in diameter) and chill for 15 minutes.
- Melt candy melts in the microwave until smooth.
- Dip lollipop sticks into melted candy before inserting them into each cake ball; freeze for another 15 minutes.
- Dip each cake pop into the melted candy melts and decorate with sprinkles while wet.
- Allow to set in a styrofoam block.
